Dr. Manmeet Mahinderjit Singh
Associate Professor Dr. Manmeet Mahinderjit Singh
Cybersecurity Educator & Researcher

Dr. Manmeet Mahinderjit Singh is a Cybersecurity Associate Professor at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) with over 15 years of academic and eight years of industry experience. She holds a PhD in Data Security from the University of Queensland, Australia, and specializes in cybersecurity, AI security, IoT security, mobile security, privacy, and cyber threat intelligence. Her research focuses on APTs, ransomware, privacy risk modelling, and cybersecurity situational awareness, alongside delivering executive cybersecurity training and serving as a Master Trainer in Computational Thinking.
Dr. Manmeet has chaired CISO Kuala Lumpur (2025-2026), served as an international speaker, panel moderator, and CISO Awards judge, and is widely recognized as one of the Top 30 Cybersecurity Women ASEAN and Top 10 Cybersecurity Women Malaysia (2021-2022).
She also received the Cybersecurity Trainer Award 2022 and actively collaborates with CyberSecurity Malaysia while contributing to the Australian Information Security Association (AISA) and mentoring through Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS).
Kalaivani Selvaraj
PhD Candidate & Cybersecurity Researcher

Kalaivani Selvaraj is a PhD candidate and cybersecurity researcher at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang. Her doctoral research focuses on securing Android-based Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) environments against ransomware through hardware-level behavioural analysis, intelligent threat detection, and adaptive mitigation.
Before pursuing her doctoral studies, she served as a Lecturer in the School of Information Security at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences-Nizwa, Oman. Her research interests include Android and IoMT security, ransomware detection and mitigation, hardware behaviour analytics, AI security, data security and privacy, and cyber threat intelligence. Her work aims to develop practical, intelligent, and privacy-preserving security solutions for resource-constrained connected healthcare devices.
Nazri Ahmad Zamani

Nazri Ahmad Zamani is the Head of AI Unit at CyberSecurity Malaysia with over 20 years of experience in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital forensics, and cyber threat intelligence. He leads initiatives related to AI security, AI safety, AI governance, and secure AI adoption.
Nazri was part of the interim team responsible for establishing Malaysia's National AI Office (NAIO) and has contributed to national initiatives involving AI governance, standards, assurance, and digital trust. He is a frequent speaker on AI security, AI governance, cyber resilience, digital trust, and responsible AI development.
Dr. Zarul Fitri bin Zaaba

Dr. Zarul Fitri bin Zaaba is a Senior Lecturer born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He received his BSc in Information Technology from Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2003, an MSc in Information Security from the Royal Holloway University of London in 2007, and a PhD from the University of Plymouth, the United Kingdom, in 2014.
He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the School of Computer Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Before joining USM, he worked with the government and semi-government sectors. He specialises in information, privacy, web, and human security. He is also actively involved in Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM) education and has been appointed as a Master Trainer in computational thinking.
Ts. Suraya Hani Binti Ahmad Zaki

Ts. Suraya Hani Binti Ahmad Zaki is a Senior Analyst at CyberSecurity Malaysia with more than 23 years of experience in ICT security, telecommunications, and software engineering across public and private sectors. She supports national cyber sovereignty through risk intelligence architecture, threat research, and open-source intelligence evaluation, while contributing to cybersecurity projects involving government agencies and industry partners.
A registered Professional Technologist with the Malaysia Board of Technologists, she also plays a role in Malaysia's AI security governance through appointments in AI working groups, standards committees, task forces, and councils.
Ts. Suraya has represented Malaysia at international cybersecurity forums and has spoken at programmes organised by government bodies, regional platforms, and international organisations. She holds several professional certifications in cybersecurity, threat intelligence, project management, and information security leadership. Her work connects AI governance, cybersecurity standards, digital resilience, responsible internet use, and cross-sector collaboration to strengthen Malaysia's national cyber defence capabilities.
